So, what are the odds of 2007 becoming a "key" year since the mint stopped selling these so many times?
platinum shine again current record high stand at $1,996.00 per ounce. if mint sell its 10th anniversary today. it will be $2,755.95 per set. based on $2,100.00 per ounce.
From what I hear the 10th Anniversary Platinum sets really have not sold out, but the mint just stopped selling them due to the high price of platinum. I don't think there would be too many buyers at over $2700 a set.
platinum @ $2,008.00 per ounce platinum new record again. this time $2,008.00 per ounce. p.s. it hit again at $2,011.00 per ounce.
i toured the philadelphia mint on tuesday, and in their gift shop, they had the platinum coins available for sale there. i dont remember the price, but just in case anyone was interested.
gold and platinum predictions gold could hit $1,000.00 an ounce soon. while prediction for platinum might reach $2,200.00 and it will bounce back to $1,750.00.
Sometimes you can get a real good deal there because the contract that runs the store may not raise the price as fast as the Mint web site does. When the 1999-S Silver proof sets started to take off I was still able to buy them at the Mint store at the regular price.
platinum heading for $2,200.00 platinum record now stand at $2,063.00 per ounce. gold could jump as high as $1,400.00 per ounce. if so, silver might follow and hit $27.00 per ounce or more.
Just read the other day that all the GOLD ever mined, melted down would fill 3 olympic swimming pools BUT all the Platinum ever mined would cover ONE olympic sized swimming pool ANKLE DEEP!! So if platinum is 35 times rarer than Gold then the top price for it is astronomical!!!!! Say; $ 40,000 to $50,000 per oz???
no way jose.... platinum collectors were very few. even if platinum were few. still few people collect them. just look at the ratio for platinum against gold. if i have more money. i will buy silver more then gold. not a single penny for platinum.
platinum new high again platinum record high again - $2,093.00 palladium record high - $456.00 wow.........
TPGs and prices Looking at EBay I see that the slabs are selling very near melt and sometimes less. It appears the grading makes little difference to those who want to invest in some small coins. Even the 1/10 oz are going for near melt prices. Proofs are also nt bringing larer premiums unless they are special. This could be a weeding out of TPGs and their control over all graded coins from dealers and comsumers in the same room. My opinion only.
$2,200.00 for platinum???? platinum recorded $2,116.00 per ounce while palladium at $471.00. after these metals corrected. we will then see gold and silver move higher and hit record too.
There will always be buyers and sellers of platinum, but less and less of the general public can afford it at today's prices. That being said.....it is probably still heading up in price, at least for the short term. Gold has stabilized for now, for those looking to get in before it makes it's next price jump.
Platinium was in deficit 400,000 ozs last year. This year, with the power outages in SA, it is projected to be the same.
