At this rate gold may need to be quoted in Yen.

    Fed

If you have cash in a money market the last fed cut will take it down around 2 % . It will take 30days or so to get into the system . Choice, pick a CD that will pay out over a comfotable time period , stocks ? ( Possibly prefered ? ) Metals or properety at distressed prices. Were about a cent away from a 1.50 to 1.00 dollar vs Euro.
Oil is bumping back up. The FED was late and a recession is way better then 50% in the eyes of most.
A balanced portfolio really looks good right now.

Hey Frank... those numbers are the actual ask just prior to the US market opening reported from highs in the European Markets. They lasted only a short few min and the sell off (profit taking) took hold. By going to www.kitco.com you can get the same reports.

I fully expect to see the AU,Ag,Pt to continue to rise this and next years as well.
Hold on to the saddle horn Cowboys!!

I'm holding silver. My grandfather and grandmothers. They buried it in 1939. Man...this is a dilemma. They hoarded it for hard times after going through the depression. They hoarded it as REAL MONEY. All these years we have kept it in the bank safety deposit boxes. As I write this, I have a rather large amount of debt. If silver goes up to $30 +, it is going to be hard for me to hang on to it. I would be able to pay off a couple of debts. I REALLY love my collection, but I am sorting through it and setting aside the "junk" in case it goes up really high. I DO understand that coin collecting is just that. But saving you butt is just that too. :hammer:

platinum and palladium break record again

u.s. mint stopped selling platinum products both proof, uncirculated and 10th anniversary set. except 1/10 ounce proof.

the bullion price of platinum hit record high @ 1,953.00 per ounce. even higher than the selling price of 10th anniversary set.

my guess is that if the price stable at this level. the mint will set the price for american eagle platinum and gold at $2,050.00 and $975.00 per ounce respectively. thus these prices will look like this more or less.

10th anniversary platinum set - new price $2,689.95

    proof platinum eagle:
    one ounce - $2,368.95
    half ounce - $1,195.95
    1/4 ounce - $638.95
    1/10 oz. - $318.95
    set - $4,367.95

    uncirculated platinum eagle:
    one ounce - $2,218.95
    half ounce - $1,145.95
    1/4 ounce - $602.95
    1/10 oz. - $278.95
    set - $4,217.95

    proof gold eagle:
    one ounce - $1,133.95
    half ounce - $579.95
    1/4 ounce - $305.95
    1/10 oz. - $146.95
    set - $2,029.95

    uncirculated gold eagle:
    one ounce - $1,073.95
    half ounce - $544.95
    1/4 ounce - $285.95
    1/10 oz. - $121.95
    set - $1,991.95

    5th spouse gold:
    proof - $633.95
    unc - $613.95

    good luck to all.
