Elaine, what do you mean "if" the mint does come out with the Buffalo $50 proof?

    Surely they will produce it.

Having holes in a collection is no fun. Gotta have it, will just need to buy it at the best possible time.

hope the mint will produce it on time. but if the blanks is still not available. they might just suspend it this year. and produce it by next year bearing the year 2009 or 2010. remember they have other products like american eagle gold proof and w mint mark. those might as well relay.

again. the price of gold is important too. if it is too high. i will not buy them. i don't collect set. i buy when the price is right. and the mintage is low.

Still have not got my buffalo yet
I'm saving up for a $5 Buffalo... I want PCGS, MS70... Don't like the look of the proof ones, over the uncirculated...
Where or where is my buffalo... For under $500 too..THAT WOULD BE NICE...

what you mean you are not receiving your buffalo $5.00. is that the 2008 am buffalo 1/10 ounce?. is it proof or unc?. why not ship out?. will it be cancel later on by the mint. they did that to me during 2006. 50 pc 2006w am eagle 1/10 oz unc gold.

Just went ahead and read earlier posts in this thread, about the FS not meaning anything, and people not wanting to buy them, because they were too expensive... Makes me chuckle :)

Thanks for the mintages elaine.. I just looked back, are these correct?
    gold buffaloes mintages:

    uncirculated:
    one ounce - 9,660
    half ounce - 9,829
    1/4 ounce - 10,649
    1/10 ounce - 19,076

    proof:
    one ounce - 19,589
    half ounce - 12,569
    1/4 ounce - 13,902
    1/10 ounce - 19,294

I'm only interested in knowing the 1/10 ounce proof and uncirculated, those are the final ones, right?

yes, that is all correct. you should have buy some during the mint gold products almost sell out. the insiders or i should said the rich collectors or big dealers just completely clear all the remainders. every items sold several thousand pieces before it declared sold out. the proof should be the winner this time. because the premium or gap between the proof and the unc. is at least 50%. while the prices between the proof and the unc offered by the mint is only few dollars gap.

You can buy a MS70 versus a PR70 for less money actually
I see the demand of the mint state, higher than the proof
I'd rather have the uncirculated, although, I don't really care at this point!
I just want a $5 buffalo, PCGS MS or PR70, for less than $500... :)
I know where I can get NGC MS70 for $359, but I was really hoping to get PCGS
Now, I ask you, do you think I, when I have the money, get that NGC MS70 for $359, rather than saving up some $500 to get a PCGS $5 MS70 Buffalo.

if you ask my opinion on this. i would suggest forget about the ms70 or proof70. because why pay more for those high price slabbed coins when you can get coins directly from the mint for ms69 or proof69 and ms70 or proof70 at mint original low offer prices. you already losing a lot of money for those slabbed coins. because you paid so much for those so called professional people to quickly check those coin grades. and the cost of everything to produce that slabbed coins. such as the plastic case, service fee, shipping fees to and from, and so forth. all those cost money. that coin is still that coin. the problem is just you don't trust yourself to check for yourself on that coin. that coin directly buy from the mint is already mentioned above. i repeat. ms69 or proof 69. ms70 or proof70. what more you want. paying $359.00 or paying $115.00 for the same coin.

How can you pay $115, for the coin???
    IT IS SOLD OUT!!!
There are no more $5 buffalos for that price..ANYWHERE
If I could pay some $300 for a raw one I would, probably even more
My point is, the price of these now, in raw is around the price you would pay for one to be graded, so why not just dish out the extra cash for one to be graded?
I want one, rather badly, and was wondering, if I could get one raw, for less than $300, sign me up :eat:

Just recently a PCGS First Strike sold for around $500, and it was a MS70
The First Strike label doesn't mean a whole lot to me, because it is just a label, and the coins with it have a lower population, I could care less, really, but if I can pick one up at no added premium, I'm cool with that

as i said before. always buy directly from the u.s.mint. prevent buying after sold out.

But you see, HOW, can I do this???
There is nothing from the mint, and is sold out
I HAVE to buy from the secondary market now

remember if the american eagle or buffalo one ounce proof gold come out later in this year. don't buy them. mintage will be a lot. check the 2009 bullion one ounce am eagle gold and silver. there is no future for those two coins. mintage is so high.

    Yes...
I'll be struggling just to get this $5 Buffalo, it'll take me months to raise up enough money for it
If I win the lotto, I'll make sure not to buy the 09' one ounce.. lol
    Thanks for the tip :)
