The writer, Jon Sullivan, may have meant to say that this ASE came out of SF, as SF was minting ASEs with no mint mark at the time. This is what he wrote: "The West Point Mint was at the same time striking commemorative silver dollars — the Black Revolutionary War Patriots silver dollar and the Robert F. Kennedy silver dollar."

Maybe Mr. Carr and his press minted it up . I've seen some of his work slabbed by pcgs ... Maybe the mint sold him the dies for that year, and he's making them as we speak . Wouldn't that be funny ...
Absolutely no mention of any bullion being struck at San Fran or West Point (1998) mentioned in John Mercanti's book American Silver Eagles A Guide to the US Bullion Coin Program.
I see Ebay sellers already know this too - asking some crazy prices for "unsearched" tubes of 1998 ASE's.
