Do you have a really good photo of the central obverse?

Isnt this from the roller that is used in the making of the planchet? I have seen this on quite a few coins

I'm thinking feed finger damage from the fingers rubbing across the face of the die.

I've seen this before and am fairly certain its die abrasion of some type.

If that is the answer, we should have a look at images of the reverse, as the lines on the back will be perfectly parallel with those on the obverse, imparted into the strip by the calendaring rolls.

If there are no lines on the reverse or, if there are but they do not align with those on the obverse, then I'd surmise that the lines came off of the obverse die.

The reverse is mint, no lines what so ever ....

Definitely and from what I recall, coins in the higher grades are collectible by State Quarter enthusiasts.

I dipped 5 quarters in hydrogen peroxide and vinegar and that is sorta what they looked like when I took them out. Yours looks like it's been circulated after someone did that too it
