You are the first rude person I've encountered. Others have been supportive. One is enough for me. How do I take my name off this site?

I am sorry that you have encountered such rudeness, this is easy to deal with. Just click on his name then click on ignore.

The 82D that you are referring to would be like finding a needle in a hay stack. 100% of the ones posted here are large dates.
We would need a Photo to help.

There is no excuse for someone to respond to you like that, not everyone around here is like that. Hang around, there are many good people on here. It is extremely unlikely that you have a small date copper 1982 d, but everything is guesswork without pictures. I feel for you, I have been on here for years but couldn't post a picture if I had to!

The easiest way for me to tell the difference between the large and the small date is the shape of the 2. Look closely at the picture that Michael K posted and just look at the shape of the line of the 2 that connects to the base.

Randy, It is like a person saying they found the real map to the Lost Dutchman's mine in Granny's secret drawer. The chances are more than extreme. The chances you would be hit by lightning in a year is 4X higher than you finding that coin. Youtube and books, websites, etc use it to lure unknowing individuals in supporting them. You won't find members who will believe it from anyone, unless they have photos and documentation. We see literally more than 100 claims and questions just on this coin a week. The forum members can't charge just to give an opinion on a coin, but we can judge what we can see. Perhaps a neighbor, friend, or family member can help with a photo. Most young people have cell phones they can use with a magnifier to get the date well enough to upload. There are threads on how to upload that will help people along. If you find some obnoxious, I am sorry, but often if a person doesn't agree with us, they can become the same. If it gets beyond a reasonable level , I will stop it, but since you are just concentrating on coins that are almost impossible to find, you can expect a lot of difficulties and naysaying along the way. There are true experts on the forum , but even experts need evidence to form opinions.

We do not delete members even on their request as many come back after years go by, but even if you stop posting, read the info on threads here for knowledge. Jim

Thanks so much for your support. I'll open a new post with new questions and hopefully anonymous will be asleep
By the way, I found another pic online. It shows the large date 2 closer to the edge than the small date. Based on that, I guess I have a large date. I'll keep it, though.

Please start a new thread. It is not the placement of the 2 it is the shape of the 2. Also a large date looks significantly different in size than a small date.

Ok. Thanks. I'm going to keep it anyway. You folks are very helpful. I've learned so much in the past week. I see now, my new hobby is opening a whole new world.

Wow, couldn't have guessed that outcome. Care to apologize? I doubt it.

You are the one being rude, hijacking threads, making unbelievable claims without evidence and then acting surprised when called out on your BS.
Don't worry, the White Knight brigade is here to tell you your stunning display of ignorance is perfectly OK.

You need to read this -

And after you do, you need to remember that it's not your place to sit in judgement of anybody.
