Normalcy (and by extension, a life) is for people who can't deal with coin collecting.

Just saw this on one of the Silver propaganda sites, not sure if true:

    *Breaking:
The US Mint has just notified Authorized Dealers that it is ENTIRELY SOLD OUT of Silver Eagles, and WILL NOT TAKE FURTHER ORDERS UNTIL AUGUST 2015!

This pm market reminds me of other markets I've seen. It appears to want to decline, yet there is resistance keeping it from a free fall, so it's "inching" down. Often there's a panic, just like the one that drove it up, that will cause a free fall. If I'm going to buy, that's when I do, after the free fall.

You can cite all the stats you want to attempt to prove this won't happen, but there's nothing like a good old fashion panic to kill a market.

If I were in this market and could get out now, without losing the house, I'd get out. If you would lose the house, well, maybe you should wait and see.

You ask if one of the opposing team would admit to being wrong, as you so bravely did. After searching extensively on the web I can say that I too was wrong. None of the big banks have been convicted of PM manipulation. They have, however, been convicted of manipulating just about everything else under the sun. And, as far as I know, not a single executive has been criminally prosecuted. One final statement: if you and I could meet privately, both of us bringing documentation on our investments for the past fifty years, I would bet whatever amount you wish to put on the table that my return on that portion of my portfolio that is stacker related, would surpass your paper investments.

Not that it really matters but I belong to several boards, the members of which have varied opinions on every subject that comes up for discussion. Oftentimes heated debate, not arguing, accompanies this discussion. But I can say for sure that never has a board member insinuated that another member was not "normal" because they did not agree with the others point of view. I would think that a moderator here on CT should think long and hard before making statements about members not being "normal."

Well, it would be my guess that the banks have not been convicted of PM manipulation since it really is too small a nut for them. Also I see no end game for them and manipulation really can only be done on a short term basis, not the years the the PM stackers are suggesting. If you see how the end plays out for them, please let me know how you see it, but if you are like me and cannot see a viable plan to make money, it probably is best to conceed that it does not exist.
Also, as I stated before, it is really not logical to suggest that manipulation was done and yet silver is sitting at fair value. Are you saying they just suck at it???

As far as your challenge, just as an FYI, the MODS are not friendly towards real money wagers being presented on the site, so I will have to decline, but just as an FYI, I am not saying I have done as well are you did, but if you did beat me, the only way possible was through extraordinary market timing. If you just did a buy and hold, there is no chance.

And I can say that a reader or poster here should think long and hard before assuming that every word from a moderator's keyboard is to be taken as a literal and absolute statement of that moderator's opinion, especially when the moderator goes so far as to end a statement with a smiley.

On the other hand, if you're looking for things at which you can take offense, I'm sure you can find them here, and on all those other boards as well.

Doug wasn't actually stating that people who post on the Bullion Investing forum are freaks. He was making a joke. At least, that's the way I interpreted it, and I assumed any other reasonable person would interpret it the same way.

Even with the "recovery" back (barely) above $15, current melt value per Coinflation is 10.92x FV -- but Provident is still buying at 12.43x, and they're still offering $16.20 each for cull Morgan and Peace dollars. So, yeah, the plunge hasn't really made it through to the retail market yet, and Provident at least apparently still think they can make money buying 90% at 75 cents above spot.

If you believe that by simply adding a "smiley" at the end of a derogatory statement, that by adding that symbol the intent is negated, then you are living in a very strange world indeed.

If you insist on taking offense without regard for any humorous or sarcastic or teasing intent, the world must seem like a very hostile and confusing place. Especially the parts of it that you see through the Internet.

You are making baseless accusations. Because I take offense at some members comments, regardless of "smileys" that somehow makes me fit your notion of who I might be. When talking with friends "humorous or sarcastic or teasing intent" is perfectly acceptable and understood. For those people who are not friends don't automatically expect people to know what you really meant.

There is a misconception that all stackers dream of PM's price shooting to the stars. But for some of us lower prices are a welcome buying opportunity.
