I am making the switch, well I have been
buying 1 OZ bars mixed in with a buffalo
or two but finding out its almost impossible to get that premium back, my
LCS charges a $40 premium on bars which is more then competitive most are
$70 and above for the same product but
when you buy US GOLD it’s up near $100, I have done some surveys of several coin dealers in the area and currently since there is allot of people selling GOLD you don’t get any buy back
premium on spot price atleast that’s how
it is in my area would be interested how
other members are seeing the same thing in there areas ?

Bottom line buy the cheapest GOLD you
can find my LCS stocks the Lady Fortuna 1 OZ bar and they come strait from the
factory here’s a few of my latest pick uos.

Also picked up this 5 OZ APMEX.bar originally wanted to keep it all pamp
but the premiums are very high
because not many people make that
    size.

Yeah, I know a coin shop where the owner sells the same thing, the PAMP 1 oz. bars but I've never bought any from him as I know his style, in short he'd likely charge me top dollar so I have no business there. When I go there I buy small or rare, last time I was there I bought a half sovereign for $250, at the time it was around a $35 premium, not too bad, I left happy. :cigar: Getting a great premium right now is tough cause there's plenty of buyers, too much competition, plus I'm broke! :D

Wish I could've gotten some of that action back when Discover was offering 5% cash back on wholesale-club purchases. Of course, that's limited to $75 on $1500 per quarter, so you'd blow through it all on a single purchase, and these days it would be more like, what, 3.4% cash back? Still, $75 is $75.

The real deal would've been back in the day when our Citi card offered pretty aggressive price protection -- but I think they specifically excluded PMs and jewelry. They canceled that deal a long time ago, anyhow.

I found even better was when we were able to buy bags or boxes of US Mint releases at face value with rewards credit cards. The rewards points were issued and you'd be able to bring your face value coin purchases to your bank and deposit them. Then repeat the process over and over. Rewards points racked up big time with zero cost/spent on any actual purchase. They ended that one pretty quick.
