Here are two silver rounds that were given to me by my mother about a year ago. I believe my parents were married in 1992, and these were given to them at their wedding, mom gave them to me, knowing that I was a coin collector, and that those were the only 'coins' she had. I've kept them in my drawer (vault) for the last two years, and finally decided to take them out and photograph them. What is neat about these two, is that the obverses are completely proof while the reverses have the characteristics of a mint state/burnished coin. Honestly, it is pretty cool, but the reverses were very difficult to photograph so I did my best. Tell me whatchya' think. Here is a list of the previous Coin Outta The Vaults, in case you missed one. Nice! I used to get those from one of my dad's friends for Christmas when I was little. One is from 1994, not sure about the other. The reverse may be like that because they are meant to be engraved?
Did they get married at Christmas? (JK) The photos are killer! And here's a historical silver chart from Kitco on the average price of Silver in 1992.
They got married Feb 28th. So technically they've been married for 5 years, I think. LOL Although it has been longer than that, around 18. And nearly $4 an ounce...boy times have changed! You know, I think you may be onto something. The reverse seems like a soft, glossy finish, just like a Burnished ASE. I think you are right about the engraving, it is a strong possibility.
Aside from spell check (which I don't need all that often) an automatic fact check would be nice. Scans through your sentences, underlines the false statement in red. LOL
