The coins came in the mail this afternoon with some cool stamps! My first gold coin/token, @lordmarcovan elongated penny, and some interesting holed coins!

Very cool to see a half dime! I think I will take inspiration from LordM’s holed Indian head cent set on a cork board and make a holed half dime set. :D

    Thank you very much!!!

Yay! Thanks for posting the loot. It’s fun to see, because sometimes, even in the short time between my sending something and it being delivered, I forget what-all I put in there by way of extras.

PS- I’ve got a rough looking 1851-O half dime holey, too...

@lordmarcovan I'm curious as to how you made the die/stamp to create your own elongated coins? Very cool

And yes, I would be interested in the 1851-O half dime holey if you'd like to swap. :) Now that I think about it, I don't have a coin from the New Orleans mint!

I’ll send you the 1851-O and you can send me whatever you think is fair as a swap (maybe something I can put in the giveaway pool). I was going to keep it for my holey type set, but like the 1847 I sent you, it’s got the hole in the wrong place. (I’m a picky holey collector. LOL)

As to the elongated coins, that story is here.

Oh- and enjoy the holey collecting! It’s a lot of fun and usually inexpensive (unless you start going for Seated and Bust dollars and gold).

Beware, though- it can be habit-forming! If you’re not careful, you might end up looking like this goofy-lookin’ fella! ;)

Since I'm rather new to the forum, I was not aware that I was supposed to post pics when my goodies arrived from you Lord M, however, if I win again in the future, now I know!

@Matthew Kruse - your Lord Marcovan elongated cent is a Type 1B- the Type 1 variant with no hole.

Which, in retrospect, is kind of ironic, given that I sent you a bunch of “holey” coins. I wasn’t thinking about that. Given that you’ve got a holey collection going now, you need a Type 1A LordM elongate (the holed variant). I’ve already shipped you that holey 1851-O half dime, so just remind me the next time I’ve got something headed your way, so you can have the Type 1A holey elongate as well.

Edit- oh, and I suppose you’re gonna need some of those little map pins, too, for your cork board. So I’ll send you the holey elongate and some map pins.

Haha, I read about the two different types of your elongated cents but I didn’t make the connection either! Thank you! :hilarious:
