Has PLATINUM become a 1 sided bet ?

I agree on the prognosis for platinum, but I would not consider it a "one sided bet". What if demand continues to deteriorate and South Africa gets their act together? Then PT for $600 would not be unforeseeable. Also, Palladium demand will create more mining for this metal, which as a "byproduct" will lead to more PT being mined, rising supplies.

Personally, I think demand will stabilize, there might be more mining due to Palladium, but I would never wish to bet on South Africa getting their act together, (sorry any South Africans reading this, I just don't). So, to me, its a good time to work on my proof platinum Eagle set. :)

Last time I bought platinum a few months ago it was under $800/spot. But buying APE's you're paying a premium anyways ... I bought a few APE years that I didn't have for the numismatic aspect of it. But I'm cheap, and willing to wait for prices to drop even though they didn't drop that much. The prices were not "spot + flat premium" they were more like "flat + floating premium to keep the price the same"

on another note, if you want to correlate gold/platinum to the stock market here's an article from today about GPR+Stocks

Is Goldcollector from Seattle or another city from Washington nearby? Remember, he has mentioned the Seattle coinshop Northgate Rare Coins before, which makes it seems he is in that area. If so, this is an important warning to give other members to exercise caution when dealing with anyone from his city.

No need to give his address unless we prove he is guilty, but please provide his city.

Seriously, I do not like the tone of this hounding of this member. If the site wishes to talk to all parties regarding the transaction, then do so. If they wish to issue discipline, please do. However, to ask for a members location be shared on the board against his will "even if" guilt is not proved is simply too much for me. That simply is harassment to me.

For Christ's sake, what was it a couple of hundred bucks? If the person who claims to be out it wants it I will Paypal gift it to him today if that will make this hounding go away.

The other party in the deal has actually been pretty reserved about it.

It's got to be pretty easy to rip off people who are skeptical of the government and distrustful of other people. Now, I know garlicus buries his silver. This implies he doesn't trust a bank safe deposit box. This also implies to me that if someone doesn't trust banks and the government that they are unlikely to report a crime against them involving precious metals. To report that crime would reveal to the government that you are a buyer of precious metals--therefore erasing your anonymity.

So if you're a criminal, your best best is to target someone who you think wouldn't go to the police.

Enough ! It stops here and it stops now !

Should it continue, sterner action will be taken. And there will be no additional warnings.

And - either stick to to the topic of the thread or it will be closed.

Platinum is up to about $880 already up 10% since the start of the thread. Even though its only enough to cover premiums as I'm paying $60-$80 premium for APE.

We have to remember though platinum is the one metal that is capable of huge run ups, very volatile. I don't think its gonna happen just yet but we will see some good upward movement in platinum in time.
