Hello Folks, Can someone help me identify this coin\round\medallion (don't know what to properly call it). In my research, i have found what appears to be similar ones with images of the Denver mint but I cannot find the image depicting New York. Can anyone provide more information on this specific coin? Many Thanks
There was an assay office in New York City for many many years. They didn't mint coins but you could deposit bullion and have it a assayed. http://www.nytimes.com/1983/07/21/nyregion/us-assay-office-site-sold-downtown-for-27-million.html
It sort of has a 70s or 80s feel to it. They were probably sold by the mint as Souvenirs of all of their facilities. You could probably find San Francisco and Denver and whatever else was open to the public.

Thank you Oldhoopster and Burton Strauss. You've helped me figure this out. So do you think they were minted in 1972? Or at least the New York medal?
