Hello, folks, and welcome to my 2026 FUN show Mystery Prize giveaway!

You see, along with my intrepid travel companion @Randy Abercrombie, I will be attending the 71st annual (2026) Florida United Numismatists (FUN) show in Orlando, just like we did last year. And as before, I intend to make a spectacle of it, and do a live report of my walkthrough on the bourse floor, with lots of pictures!

While I am at the show, I will purchase a prize coin for this giveaway. As of this initial writing, not even I know what that prize will be! So it will be fun to see what I can find.

    To enter this contest:

Simply post a suggestion as to what you'd most like to see in a coin prize costing $50 USD or less. The final prize selection will be up to me, of course, but I will read all your suggestions and keep them in mind as I walk the floor at the show. After the show is over, I will reveal the prize I bought, but we will keep the contest open for entries until on or after February 1, 2026, at which time we'll have the random drawing to see who won the prize.

Naturally I will be wearing my world-famous Holey Coin Hat to the show. Here is a picture of me at the 2025 show:

For that budget you should be able to pick up a 20th century world silver coin at around spot price. You may even be able to find a graded one.

I'd say the holey coin hat demands the prize be equally as holey. I'm thinking a Greek or Roman holed coin would be a good fit.

Some civil war tokens can be had for that price, even slabbed, and that would be a nice prize.

I'm liking your giveaway, Rob. Thank you.

I'd like to be counted in on your generosity too.

I'm thinking you could find a Classic Head ½ cent to your search. Might even find a very nice one in VF to EF condition within your parameters.

I'm sure you guys will have a phenomenal time. Enjoy! Looking forward to your annual running commentary from the bourse.

What do you mean by tokens?
High end civil war oldie and such, or token you might find in a coin star machine.
I have some kinda oldies like a MassTransit and Road Island oldie.
A copper pressed into a zinc Mexicana $1 piece and a few 1 cent Euros and a 5 cent one. Theres also some video game tokens and car wash ones I think and a couple others that I have no clue..
I think the MA and RI transit ones are the coolest and the Mexicana $1 piece.

If anyone collects them they are yours for free..
Mods if this post is frowned on I will delete it imidiatly..

I think a CWT should be doable within that price range. Hello pups, Rosie says hi.

I think a decent Indian head cent or Barber dime would be pretty neat as a prize and fall into the $50 or less category. Or even a 2 or 3 cent piece, but those 3 cent silvers can get pricey. Mystery prizes are always fun!

    @SensibleSal66
I've taken a seat and I'm still waiting. It's like being
at the doctors office or waiting on the wife to pick out
the dress she's going to wear.:yawn:

As my avatar says, maybe a nicely worn 3 cent silver, or trime as some call it. A holed one would also work. I have only one and it needs a friend. Mike.

I think a Civil War Token would be nice. Maybe one of those Fruit Dealers advertising tokens.
