That's interesting.
I talked with an Edward Jones guy about 9 months ago when a friend was transferring some stocks.
I asked what he thought about G&S as a diversification for some of the stocks...he said he could do better.
I haven't seen him since to ask his current view

Thing is, I've been hearing that practically nonstop since I first joined here -- in 2010.

 

Well, I guess there's no law forcing them to buy. If they want to avoid over-extending themselves, setting low buy prices is one way to throttle the traffic. And when people do want to sell for 25% back of spot, well, that's an opportunity for the shop to keep the cash flowing.

Yeah, I'd rather people sell direct to me at 10% back of spot than to a shop at 25% back of spot - but I don't want that enough to open my own shop, and deal with the expenses and risks that entails.

 

I hear ya about having a shop of your own. I sell my coins in my antique shop. It sure works for me and I’m doing great with the coins especially at this time. Silver is going up so fast and supplies are short. I can barely keep the coins in stock.

 

Nut..... you're going to have to open some of them packages you never broke into while you were employed. stock the shop young man!!

 

Glad I sold a little yesterday and bought two ASEs.

In anticipation of further rises, I culled some more coins from my collection to sell (ie 72%-92.5%) and possibly pivot straight into additional ASEs.

That will be a next week plan, so I hope it holds/increases for a bit longer.

 

Are the Markets closed for the next 3 days to 5 Days??

That is kinda what I am thinking I just wish I knew more about grading so I could cull some Pease, And Morgan's as well.

 

Markets are normally closed for Christmas day and New Years day.
But there's many markets: various NY markets, London, Hong Kong, Sydney which appear to be closed Christmas/New Years days.

 

Think about it these ways - can the individual coin be easily replaced in the future, do you see it all the time and/or are you 50%/100%+ ahead of original purchase cost?

 

Silver is going to continue to go up in price. It will have its dips now and then but it will recover from those dips and continue its upward trend.
