No way! You can’t have this horse. Also, these are now harder to acquire since the Russian eBay sellers can no longer sell to US buyers.
I had wondered about the affect collecting coins. Your coins are beautiful, but half way through it, I felt "sucker punched" because I pretty much knew coin collecting to those former countries would be limited, if at all. Thanks for showing your beautiful coins.
Some of these are certainly difficult. A few countries (Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan) have many choices and quite a few beautiful designs. Others have much fewer choices and those choices can be quite expensive. I have a coin from Turkmenistan on my watch list currently but don't want to pay the $280 price tag (I might cave at some point but hopefully a cheaper example shows up first).
I like this design. This one is unusual and pretty neat. I absolutely LOVE this next one and would add one to my own collection, though I've already got Kazakhstan represented with that Eagle Owl I bought from you. Those gilt apples are really lovely. I do have some gilt peaches to go with them. We could bake some pies, or a cobbler! I've commented on this one before. The hologram of the embroidery design quite resembles a snowflake, I think. Very cool. I've contemplated the addition of one of these niobium coins for a while. I like the rose motif on this one. Very cool South Ossetian piece.
@lordmarcovan we can certainly bake some pies with your peaches and my apples! We can add some grape juice to the mix as well.
Another from Mongolia to replace the one originally posted https://www.cointalk.com/threads/ddddd-ex-soviet-nations-set-add-ons-section-mongolia.402964/ Country Mongolia Denomination 500 Togrog Year 2005 Subject Endangered Wildlife Composition Silver 0.925 & Niobium Weight (gr) 25 Diameter (mm) 30 x 45 (it's an oval) Mintage 5,000 Mint CIT, Liechtenstein (most likely-can't find exact confirmation)
It is a magnificent set. I have the great pleasure of getting some of the coins that Denis has upgraded from. My interest in the same countries has magnified, since the Ukrainian War, given my heritage. These coins that our friend @ddddd has put together are beautiful, and unique. Most of them have exclusivity, given very low mintages. With US coins, people go crazy over coins with low mintages of 100,000. These Eastern European, and Asian coins have mintages of 1000-3000, most often.
Thank you! I'm happy that I have placed a few of these beauties in your set and helped increase your interest this less common area of world coin collecting!
No major updates but I figured this thread could be brought back up. The Lithuania and Uzbekistan spots remain open. The Afghanistan coin was sold and that spot is not being replaced at this point. The Mongolia coin on the first page was replaced with the one a few posts up.
Thanks! It's a cool design that I like as well. Here is the full thread about it: https://www.cointalk.com/threads/ddddd-ex-soviet-nations-set-belarus.386606/
