I actively started tracking the price of silver on a daily basis since 12-31-10 I had personal predictions then I didn't share with anyone and I wanted to see if what I thought was going to happen would manifest itself. Back in April of 2010 I was at a friends in Michigan and one of those gold telemarketer coin collecting guys called his house and wanted him to buy 3 gold indian head coins at an outrageous price of $2700! As I recall they were 2 $2.50 coins 1911 and 1914 and one $10.00 gold indian head dated 1927 I think. At that time I didn't know the prices but knew enough that that asking price was too much. I personally spoke with this gentleman and he was laughing about another customer he had who just sold all his gold to buy a bunch of silver. Apparently this customer told the coin guy that silver was going to go way up and hit 250.00 and oz by the end of 2011. While this man was laughing it gave me an idea to start actively buying again. Which I hadn't for couple of years. I don't know who that customer was who sold all his gold coins for silver, but looks like he's been correct so far. Looking back is useful, indeed. "Peak Silver" was evident at least 12 months before and after, as this post confirms. Although I personally suppose currency crisis within the next decade might well prove the bullionists right (eventually), that's a very long shot catastrophe call I wouldn't bet the farm on.
