As we approach the conclusion of another year, I continue a tradition of looking back and evaluating my purchases. There were some duds (I'll spare sharing those here), a few decent collector coins, and of course the highlights-that is what this thread is about.

My main focus is a box of 20 (version 6.0 recently posted) and a few of the coins on this list have found a spot there. Others are on the outside looking in; they are every bit as worthy but just did not make the cut at this point (I have debated expanding to a box of 50 or even 100 but for now I prefer the idea of 20 plus some extras). I also enjoy Morgans; even though the official box of 20 has a self imposed limit of one, that has not stopped me from picking up nice ones when they come my way (including something a little different than you might expect). And finally there is the ex-Soviet nations set, which got a more difficult spot filled plus an extra (just like the box of 20, there are some additional examples that aren't part of the main set but have a place in the collection).

The list below is organized by date of acquisition (one being the earliest purchase in 2022). Feel free to pick your favorite(s), make any general observations, or ask any questions.

These are all very beautiful coins. For me, it’s a toss up between the Morgan and the Texas commemorative. Ultimately, I voted for the Morgan as I absolutely love the colors on that thing!

Same for me. Surfaces and toning on that one are phenomenal! The Texas has some serious bling as well.

I am going with the Trade Dollar, and the Silk Road coins. They are both amazing! Hawaii quarter is not far behind, with great toning.

The Trade Dollar is a coin that I thought would be out of reach given that they have increased significantly in price over the last few years. I used to own a nice AU 58 but sold it before the price spike to a fellow forum member. I figured it would be better off in his crown set and I would find another later on. Well the time finally arrived a few months ago when I saw this coin in an eBay auction. The photos did not show off the color (and the TrueView is the Europe/Asia style with just the slab, so it also does not show off the color) and the details grade likely scared off enough bidders to allow me to win at a reasonable rate. When I saw the coin in hand, I was even happier with how nice it is!
