Just read this in my news feed. Yes, there are still some decent folks out there.

"He just thanked me". Seems like a bit of a reward would've been in order. At least offered even if not accepted.

It's nice to read stories like this and see that there are decent people. Also, just because the story doesn't say the former home owner didn't give them some kind of reward doesn't mean he didn't.

I agree! The man didn't even realize they were missing and would not have known they were if they hadn't told him. I would have, at least, offered them a few of the coins for a reward and given them a chance to turn it down. :D

I always wanted to believe the human race was good at its core. This article confirms it.

If I ever get to the point where I wouldn't notice that I'd misplaced forty-six half-eagles, I guess I'd make less of a big deal about a $25K loss/discovery, too.

Who's to say that they didn't return some in case of no reward , just saying . I would detect the property too .:)

People who have their hands out looking for a reward are just the opposite of the people who did this good deed. Grow up and put your big boy pants on.

Sorry, but if they didn't return it he would be out $25,000 . They Bought the house and it's contents upon the sale. Right.
On another note, My wife and I personally would do the same and return the Coins . It's just how we are Sir. I was just pointing out how some people can act honest but are not totally i guess .
Happy early Thanksgiving all . God Bless .

Agreed. He could have at least given him a gift card (under $50) to a take out restaurant. That would have been a kind show of gratitude. At least a show.

Are all of us coin collectors as cheap as me? Dang.

Maybe they did provide some kind of reward. Just because the article doesn't mention it doesn't mean it didn't happen.

The article doesn't explicitly state they didn't give a reward.
