Nice meaningless straw man, Baseball.... you're better than this.

Sadly, this is the same blind idiocy tearing this country apart. If one is willing to use such a term openly, they're probably also willing to openly admit what they believe it's meaning to be. The obvious path before passing judgement or condemning? Simply ask...

Google the acronym he used. I can't post it

He just picked the meaning that sounded racist. No one mentioned anything racist until that point.

I said NGC undergraded my 1803 cent, you said it should not have graded at all:

    https://www.cointalk.com/threads/grading-why-bother.325111/page-2#post-3210970

When your glorious PCGS graded it like I said it should, you completely reversed your opinion saying that your original statement was (erroneously) using my “standards”:

    https://www.cointalk.com/threads/grading-why-bother.325111/page-6#post-3221213

And here is where you originally evaded the fact that the quarter eagle was misgraded in an attempt to defend PCGS:

    https://www.cointalk.com/threads/is-icg-really-as-bad-as-many-people-say.325027/page-2#post-3211016

I can go on. Your patterns are pretty predictable at this point. I’m done arguing with you. It will go nowhere.

No it's not. But that's all I will say. You are all running to his defense all of which could have been typed out. Nice set up though guys. Don't worry I'm getting out of coins entirely. This time next year I hope to be completely out of them from how miserable so many collectors are. Clearly I am not old and get off my lawn enough to fit in.

The real threat to the hobby is collectors themselves

Things don’t go your way so just blame others and storm out? Yep that is exactly the kind of thing that is wrong with the world today.

What a disgusting place of miserable people this is. Anyway have fun. Nice conspiracy I guess. All you did was hurt the hobby with this garbage.

But @heavycam.monstervam @ddddd John Albanese at CAC is an unquestioned US coin expert and his opinion means SOOOO much more than either of yours but carry on

Particularly US coins. Collectors have already run me out of that field.

    Completely agree.

Who even mentioned John Albanese? Interestingly enough he is someone who rejects plenty of PCGS material for being overgraded, not natural, low end for the grade, etc.

I wonder what he’d say about the gold coin that @TypeCoin971793 posted?

Plus I’d call Mr. Albanese a US expert. I’m not sure if he has the whole world down just yet. :p

    Have you @ddddd ???

Not sure what that has to do with anything?
That must be the closing argument (?)

I figured I missed something. Was there really nothing to miss? I’m confused

I don’t think you missed anything. We all were discussing an overgraded coin. And suddenly the topic of John Albanese comes into the picture. So I said that’s interesting because he is someone who rejects a ton of PCGS material (some for being overgraded). In fact, I’d like to hear his opinion on that gold coin you posted.

Yes, it most certainly is. One cannot do much of anything today without seeing people throwing tantrums, insisting they absolutely know the intentions of others, and smearing them as racists or whatever other ist or phobe just happens to fit their narrative. Perhaps most repulsive is the fact that the people embracing such behavior often themselves engage in the most blatant racism, bigotry, or hatred, thinking it's all okay due to their own color or whatever other lame way they can separate themselves from the greater whole. I'm certainly not suggesting the latter the case with you and meant what I said about you being better than this, but acknowledging this reality would be a wise first a first step for us all to take.

If you go back to my first post you should see I had no desire to get into this with you or anyone else. I sincerely had only hoped it would get folks to think before they accuse, especially considering this is one of the most vile and damaging accusations that can be made in today's atmosphere.

Oh, and trust me; I'm well aware of how miserable collectors can be and honestly can't blame you for growing frustrated. Hell, I also agree they're the biggest threat to this hobby, but we don't make anything better by abandoning it. I've disagreed with you on many things many times, but so what? Differing opinions make everyone willing to listen better for doing so, and the last thing this forum needs is more groupthink. Take as you will.

There are terms that have a wide spread meaning. It was not spelled out as something else for a reason. Was it a set up to try and get them to jump on me quite possibly. What you are saying is not what happened. I agree with what you are saying for the most part, but whether it was trying to set a trap or something else these fringe terms for it are far out of the mainstream meaning. Given the well known meaning I would think that someone who didn't mean that would be intelligent enough to type it out.

Agreed, but is this hobby worth losing ones soul or happiness to fit in especially around here? My take is no it's not and I don't want to go down this road anymore. The old guard and the manipulators are to strong on some forums. You could spend all day trying to educate people but for what, the clicks will show up and say what they want and it does mislead people because they want things done how they want land hate change and I hate seeing that and tried to correct it but the fight just isn't worth it anymore. I feel so sorry for collectors that listen to some of the posters here and hate they will have to learn the hard way.

I agree, the problem is that there is a difference between disagreements or intellectual talks and what some here have been doing. It's beyond being able to reasonably debate with a lot or actually use god forbid intelligence. So many gotcha games, or pile on with conspiracy theories, or look I found 0.01 percent of graded coins for a series from pictures so lets just trash them because I know best ect.

We can have a back and forth even right now, it's just simply not possible with some as their feelings dictate their posts. To much chest beating going on here with some of the posters trying to posture up

I didn't post this photo. Nor did I take the photo. But I can guarantee you those marks are visible to the naked eye. I thoroughly appreciate a photographer that shows the coins true details, I wouldn't doubt also that this photo is hiding some also. If it already shows what it does. It's a coin that you should run from, especially if you are buying the grade.

I have never heard you educate anyone. If folks are gonna answer your questions, you could at least be respective, and answer them without
sending them back a pigeon hole of an answer.

Respect is a two way street, I honestly think that taking a look in the mirror, is probably one of the best things we all could do.

Just about everyone that has posted in this thread has done there best to teach what they know about this hobby.
I think more of what is happening is that we are trying to pick your brain? Figure out why you defend the TPG's. There has to be something more than the "they are the experts" I am not one statement.

You are dealing with folks that have been taught what a grade should look like, we stick to our guns, we aren't swayed by a public opinion-should I say market opinion. The coin is what it is and no TPG is gonna influence our decision. You can call us racist if ya want, maybe so called forum experts, and from your most recent statement chest beaters.

If this is the kind of statements you are gonna use when referring to another member, I would have to say why are you here? It's obvious you don't like us.
The collecting community needs to see other collectors be hard and conservative with their grading style and collection. It makes us better. Quicker to define market acceptable wear, and outright damage/ that shouldn't be overlooked. I want the best coins in my collection. Expert isn't only given to those who profess to be one.
