@Rick Stachowski, can you post a detail image of "DEI" on your 1893 Canadian Nickel?

A few (IMO) of my most visually stunning, and unusual pieces.

I am now a collector of unique coins/medals, and not trying to complete sets, which have the same design. I love the diversity of the designs in my collection, and my collection as a whole has re-sparked my interest in the hobby.

Wonderful coins, all! Here's one of my favorites, issued for the 1906 Milan Expo. It's got a low relief, so hard to find in this condition.

Say, those are some nice hooters! :p

I quite like that square Canadian barn owl, for some inexplicable reason. That's one modern I would willingly put in my collection.

The Cameroon Athenian tribute is neat, too (what's the mounted stone?) Like 'em both.

Oh, speaking of hooters, I suppose this one qualifies as "uniquely beautiful", though it's not Mint State or a proof or specimen striking like the others I posted. It did get perfect "strike" and "surface" ratings from NGC.

    I love this coin.

Yes, I Googled the two types you posted and saw some other appealing recent issues, as well. Great stuff.

I could've been tempted into an owl-themed collection...

I'm with you. So many nice ones, both new, and ancient, to have an excellent sub-collection. Very tempting. :hungry:

Here is one of my nicer Renaissance AV coins/ had I been around in 1593/ I would have collected this one.... probably a weeks wages back then. Today, it took 2 weeks wages to win it from Polish Auction. 51ca356f3ac0019b98093c3ed0035dd9 (1).jpg
