You've heard of a coin spill... But what about a coin dump?

You can't put zinc cents in a rock tumbler.
Just some gentle soap and warm water.

At least you found something fun. It makes me want to call my brother and go detecting!

I was riding my bike to work a lot back in 2012-2015. I'd often see change lying in the road at intersections. What surprised me was that there were so many nickels, dimes, even quarters -- sure, I could see people not keeping track of cents, but I figured people would keep better track of the higher denominations.

(No, I didn't pick them up, at least not in general. I'd have had to get off the bike, and standing in a busy intersection isn't something I want to do for a hobby.)

You never know sometimes. A lady I work with who lives in a very rural area metal detected an 1827 large cent on her own property.

Yeah, well I kind of live in the middle of nowhere, so law enforcement isn't very good here. At least for minor things. There was a house a walk away from us that was housing a big time drug dealer. A swat team showed up and killed his dog and arrested him. Some crazy stories around here. And we had no idea about them when we moved here.

In my area there was a large lot that held a produce stand on one end and a snow cone stand on the other. The snow cone stand had a drive up window and there was a 1’x6’ patch of sand directly below the window.
One day I was detecting the lot and when I went over that sand patch my machine went NUTS! I ended up using just the pinpointer to find the coins. 317 coins. Mostly pennies because the cash total was only $3.71.

I'm a gonna assume the poster has vision problems.

Press 'ctrl' + '+' to zoom in.

So hit the buttons: 'ctrl' and '+', at the same time and it will make the text on the browser screen larger.
