Seems to be a Type 2, March Issue

I would value it at $15

Looks like a type 1 to me. Maybe it's a scratch (or scratches), but it looks like there's islands east of Florida.

The Gulf and Florida seem like the wrong shapes for a Type 1, but ya never know.....

There are MANY Ike's I would buy at that price! A 1972 Type 2 is one of them.

So, Yes I'll buy your 1972 Type 2's for $15 each.

It's not his coin. He never posts any pics of coins he owns.

T2, probably XF. $15-$20 sounds about right. Scratches in front of the face might tag the grade some more... scans are nearly impossible to grade from.

How on earth does an Ike get THAT worn down??

For my money, I'd say the coin at the start of the thread is a Type II.

    It is 100% a T2.

Well, Merc, you're the pro. So it's a type II.
But, maybe I'm basing my diagnostics off the wrong thing. I thought the type 2 had no discernible islands? And the other types have islands either south of Florida or east of Florida (if I remember correctly).

Good eye Irish, and like Merc said, it is indeed a type II. Since scans really bring out the hairlines and do not show luster, it is possible this Ike could be better looking than the picture depicts. Anyway, It is a $20 coin in my opinion. Here is the type II I got from the bank. I am posting this to show the islands with a little more detail, for those you aren't sure what the type II looks like. myCoin.php?a=9&c=img4e876b4224b96.jpg
