For me I think it is this one for now. Supposedly only 2 Gold off-metal strikings of an aluminum-bronze coin currently in circulation:
Ah, so you were the one who took that away from me..... I was bidding on it, but it just went too high There were some fantastic Moroccan coins in that auction, congrats on winning that beauty. My most valuable foreign coins are these two (both graded 67) . I have significantly rarer and more expensive US coins.
Only 20 minted. And I think there may be a spelling error in there somewhere. If only it wasn't a fantasy coin.
Oops sorry but I really liked it and thought "Must have it if it doesn't go too high." But I'm glad you dropped out of the bidding when you did.
Haha, nothing to be sorry for! I dropped out when it exceeded the estimates, it went for faaaar more than that. All is fair in love and coins
Actually this one looks ok. I know that the first batch were called Viinamarisaar, which was incorrect. But this one is Viinamarjasaar, which is correct. But my rarest and most valuable? I have some patterns and mint errors, which are unique, but my rarest coin made for circulation (although almost entire mintage was melted and was never put into circulation) is Estonian 10 marka 1926 NGC pictures
My rarest/most valuable coin is in "ancient category" Its a R-5 FDC Aureus of Constantius I Chlorus Ticinum mint ROMAN. Two known....price on label was from 1995.
Rarest is probably my 1810 NGC AU-55 Chile (mint mark "So") Lion & Castle quarter real. Its the only one I have seen and is not included in the extensive American Numismatic Society database or in the two largest collections of the broader series sold by auction firm Calico in the last 15 years. Of the entire 1796-1818 series for this mint, only the 1817 is relatively common (hoard coin) and the 1818 is very infrequently available. The others, essentially never.
Sorry....about that. Well, here is my rarest from period 1400-1900 Holy Roman Empire (Austrian Habsburgs) 10 Dukaten Breslau Mint 34.63g. EF quality/ 42mm. Emperor Leopold I of Habsburg 1663 overstrike 1662
I made a scan for another post, so I will use it here as well. This is a 100,000 yen coin, so $950 face value, exclusive of collector value.
That's one amazing coin, congrats. I just happened to be reading about it yesterday; odd coincidence to see your note.
Absolutely fabulous. I was only joking coz the guys at the Ancients told me to go and post my coin elsewhere. Love both the coins posted by you here.
