no, like i said, they have my drivers license on file. I have never really bought much from them, because I cant see what they have. It was Thursday mid afternoon, there was one other customer in the shop and four employees on staff.

Tough to deal with a shop like that. Wonder what they would say if you walked in and ask to look at Bust Half dollars? If they ask for a date, give them a tough date and see what they say. I like Doug's idea of laying a bunch of cash on the counter. If none of this gets you past policy, say thanks and hit the door.

I'm in a new area and went out one Saturday to scope out the local B&Ms. Well, I hit one like this and when he went into the back to retrieve something, I just left and will not return. Actually, the space itself made me uncomfortable, which takes alot.

I went to another store nearby and although they don't have much on display, they let me cherrypick their 90% junk and were very inviting.

And while I'm at it, I'm going to specifically recommend Crossroads Coins in Vandalia, OH (which is about a half-mile off I-75 at the US-40 exit - if anyone is traveling through the area, it's easy on-off from I-75), Xenia Coin in downtown Xenia, OH and Executive Coin in Stow, OH (I'm sure many here frequent the Exec Coin webstore, which is one of the best). All of these places have very nice and welcoming physical stores.

I wouldn't have spent the $6, I would have just walked out.

My theory is, why spend money with someone with a lousy attitude towards people who support their paycheck/profit margin?

I asked them if they had any circulated classic commemoratives. He handed me a red book and said there is a lot of them which one do you need. So I started rattleing off the scarcer ones like,Hawaiian, spanish trail, etc. He was like whoa whoa, we have like stone mountain and bookers. I said forget it.

the man who runs the LCS near me let me sit behind the counter and look through an entire case of double eagles and high grade morgans, even though i was 10 years old and he knew i couldnt afford to buy any of them. never went to another coin store after that (the other one in town is always crowded, overpriced, and only open 2 days a week anyway)
