    Oldest:
In the 1960's: a 1909 Indian cent, as I remember it had a full Liberty.

In those days 1909 and '09 VDB cents were no big deal, you just grabbed the nicest one and spent the rest.

My memory doesn't serve me well in this instance, so I'll just post my most recent finds.

I was not and I found this coin about 2-3 months ago in a fresh CWI box (the date on the box was less than a month old).

That was certainly the find, AgCollector!

I would imagine that my oldest coin from circulation would be an early Wheat Cent, probably something in the teens or twenties, back in the 1970's.

Thalia's is a 1935 Wheat Cent (so far), although that 1952 Canada cent last week was a bit of a surprise also!

My wife (then girlfriend) got a 1909 Barber dime in change once at McDonald's. My most interesting personal find isn't the oldest thing I've found, but I got a 1944 Canadian dime at a Thornton's (gas station/convenience store) in Kentucky about 3 years ago.

I think AgCollector has us all beat with the 1/2 Real

    Cent - 1927
    Nickel - 1938 (Jefferson)
    Dime - 1943-d
    Quarter - 1944

All these were at least 10 years ago.

Coincidentally I picked up a 1940 Canadian George VI cent. It is in GREAT shape,
but probably not worth much. BTW in Amherst, Massachusetts years ago. I have most
of my Canadian coins from there, where they seem to use them as freely as US coinage.

Most certainly it was replaced. Usually I add a bit more regardless of who saves things for me. A little extra helps them remember to save coins that I might be interested in. Oh, to return to those days when the offering plate had many a Walker, Merc or Buffalo!

1919 cent, about four years ago, in pocket change. Seems like everybody's doing it.

I went to the bank yesterday and got 10 rolls of nickels. I got a 1939, 1940, 1940D, and a 1941. You'd have thought I hit the lottery I got so excited!

An 1878 Morgan dollar and an 1852 Liberty Seated dime from the father's cash register back in the mid-1970s.
