Not exactly ancient, but I bought this at about double retail value at a California coin show, paying $70 for a $30 coin. I wanted it because it is from my original home region, but I wasn't really knowledgeable about the price point of early modern German silver fractions. In the end, this was a rather cheap lesson on always knowing the coin or quickly comparing prices before buying.
