The portraits are so photo-realistic like compared to the hand engraved likeness common on notes. I suppose speed was important to get these printed and distributed.

    thanks thaivic for the help!

nice confederate notes duke. my grandma has one for me, she just got to get a chance to get to the safety deposit box at the bank! i am guessing(or hoping) its real, she took it to 2 dealers when she found it and they both said it was authentic and offered her money for it. but you never know till its in hand.

Finally tracked one of these down. I like the similarity to the US design - the American Bank Note Company either gave them what they wanted or didnt' want to work too awfully hard on this one.

I like it! I particularly like the small vignette on the back, left side. That looks like it would be a nice design on a coin as well, which would link the two, not and coinage together nicely.

No, nothing exciting. There is one where the digits are a little uneven but it's very minor (or major by ebayer's standards:D).

Traded a 1960-D Small Date Cent on Silver Roosevelt Dime Planchet (ANACS AU-58) for this. Been waiting a long time for this type of note in gem condition (for the record, I took these pics really fast, so the dark spot in the bottom left corner on the reverse is just the shadow of my hand and the camera):

Found a $100 star note yesterday, but I don't think I'm going to keep it. Lightly circulated, 2003 series. It's destined for my bank account at the moment.
