My latest infatuation which I yet to see in hand and for that matter can not find a decent photo of at the moment to post is the obverse - Ms. Liberty - of the 1988 olympic $5 gold in proof cameo.

I would have to say the small eagle reverses to early Dollars, halves and quarters. I know some call it a skinny chicken, but I just love that reverse.

Trade Dollar Obverse due to my farmer roots.

Well since the $10 Indian is one of my favorties too, I'll say that the edge design of the $10 Indian is pretty darn cool. I probably like other designs on coins better, but this is defintely the best edge designs around. Too bad most of mine are in slabs that hide the edges :(

I'm gonna say the reverse of the Buffalo nickel. It screams classic American old west.

I have two all time favorites that I like equally And they are both reverses
First is the Reverse of the Walking Liberty Half Dollar
Second is the Reverse of the Eisenhower Dollar.
I can look at them for hours.

Boy this is tough ! I mean any coin featuring Lady Liberty or the Eagle is magnificant. I even like the lowly Buffalo standing alone. But I guess the Walker obverse would be my favorite (today anyway) lol

I enjoy so many coins, so I'm not sure I can pinpoint a locked favorite. Right now, I've fallen in love with the reverse of the $20 Liberty Head gold coin.

    See my avatar...
I like both the obverse and reverse of that coin. There are way too many to choose from IMO. But this is one of my favorites.
It was chosen to be the 1932 Quarter, but the mint director at the time didn't think it was a woman's place to design a coin, so he overruled the entire process that chose the design.
He took it upon himself to install Flanigan's design as the 1932 quarter, and no one challenged him. :(

Yep... WAY TOO MANY beautiful coins to pick just one.
That reverse is gorgeous. So far and away better than anything modern.

I'm with RaceBannon. My vote is for Fraser's Buffalo on the reverse of the BUFFALO nickel (how often does a coin become commonly known after what is depicted on its reverse?). And the most beautiful is the Type 1 reverse:

For runners-up, both sides of the Walker are beautiful and the reverse of the SLQ is great. You could throw a lot of classic commem's into the mix as well -- some of the Pan Pac designs come to mind.

For symbolism, the reverse of the Eisenhower dollar. For esthetics, the eagle on the reverse of the 2009 ultra high relief double eagle has so much depth you can almost feel it flying.

As with Leadfoot, it is so hard to pick only one favorite, but for now, I'm going to go with this one (not mine):

I was going to say the Obv of a 2 cent piece but that pic of the 1/2 right before my post is sooo nice. I might just have to switch. lol

The Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle Ultra High Relief Pattern obverse. If we can't count patterns, the Walker obverse.
