My steel blue quarter. I always have loved toned coins and this one takes the cake with a solid blue on the obv and almost no toning on the rev except a light champagne color around the rim



Again a toned coin, but a nice high MS coin oh and because I am a barber freak! I lover barber coins especially dimes!!!! I love em, someday I'll be able to complete the set and write a nice long article on how I found each one. Love EM!! Add'ly someone mentioned the possibility that with the sharpness of this coin it could very well be a proof.


My XF 1826 O-113a bust half. I have just been taken with the bust design since I saw my first one, and this one, with the textile toning in the fields just tickles me pink.

The story is better than the coin, but I like this coin because of the location.

Found in Granny's gun locker (They ate what they hunted~way before vegans) was this coin.

It also had a hand of tobacco with a note tied to it.

"Congratulation to Judge Thompson on the event of the hanging of......."

Now Granny was also of the "Cut me a switch" generation and recall her sending me back to get a better one than the willow branch I brought her the 1st time.

What a woman. She died with complications from an auto accident at age 97, but I never crossed that creek again to ride the neighbor's pony after I cut her that 2nd switch.

Wish I could find a babysitter like her these days!

Duke, On that note what type of scanner or camera are they using to get such great (or just better than mine which would not be hard) pictures?

 

One night I was bored and held up my magnifier that I use to my cheap digital camera before taking some shots and it worked to take much better pictures... I can even use a 5x over my cell phone camera to take good enough pics now! LOL

hunt1 - if you are going to hold a contest you need to let everyone know who won. It is lame to say that you just pm'd the winner. Is this just your way of holding a contest and reneging on sending someone the prize? If you don't post the winner's name then the contest sounds like a sham.
