Good Day, I just wandered into this website and the topic of workspace and cabinet storage has been a long time burden until I got a bit creative in my old age. The first picture is of my work area / computer desk which is comprised of a 10 drawer, 52 inch wide Husky tool chest. My 32 inch monitor bolted directly to the steel peg board backing. The next picture is the display case where I store the items in my collection that are larger than the standard 2x2 and 2.5x2.5 inch flip. Then there's the cabinet I built to store all the flips. It's drawers with pulls are made from jewelers trays with 3M double sided hooks as pulls in the center of each tray, with the hook facing sideways. The last picture is the cabinet with a couple of the drawers partially pulled out. It is all working well for me..
Here is a coin cabinet I bought at an antique store in about 1970. It is beautiful, and apparently designed to fool thieves. However, it is relatively useless to use, because the trays are loaded on a central rod, one upon the other. No direct access to lower trays. To get to a lower tray, you must remove every tray above it! Needless to say, I don't use it.
Man - I didn’t realize how much of a be told-thread this was until some of you liked my post. My desk had gotten cleaner, but having to work at home during COVID destroyed it. I’ve abandoned the boxes in favor of small Dansco binders, so no cabinet for me anymore. but I like your setup Paul!
