I was up late last night AANTV had 4-5 Redfields in the Paramount grade MS-66 +$800.00 to 1200.00 I think No one bid on them I think there was 3 red labels and 3 black labels

Very common date, and lots of dings and hits for a MS 63 (I might even have graded it lower), but really LOVED the toning, so it is now mine:

old green label!!! Vam is in the date inverted 8 is 1 I am think its could be, but I have not found 1 like this yet!!!! the black around *88 is metal raised from striking. but not found one to match this one @ Vamlink yet
but still hunting!!!

 

It is definitely the inverted 8. Here is a pic of the inverted 8, which is vam 28/30:

 

Thanks MD but that ring of metal around the date is odd too I been hunting thru Vamlink Vam buy date but have not found 1 with the extra metal around the date yet .:kewl:http://www.vamworld.com/1888-O+VAMs

 

I think it is a variant of the vam 30 for 1888. The rim is different in some variants.
