I usually get my first sign from my wife, too. The more I spend on coins, the more I have to spend on her. For those of you who don't have a wife, but who may be thinking of getting one, you must understand the rationale. You see, a married man can't love anything more than he loves his wife.
to the OP, I've experienced the first two in your post! I've slowed my buying to a trickle at the moment. I just picked up the new Ike set, but that's it for me this year. I'd like the new $100 HR Gold piece, but I do without it for now.
Before my wife and I were married, I used to take her with me when I had a "money game of pool". She loved it when I gave her a few hundred bucks after I'd won and told her to buy whatever she wanted. After we were married, she started complaining that I was spending too much time playing pool. It was then that I realized how important life was. And now, I realize that I don't really miss her at all. Chris
Actually, this story sounds sad. However, I never even had enough of a sex drive to even get into a relationship, much less get married, for good, bad, or indifferent.
Funny thing. Daughter #4 seems to have an affinity for such. Tips are good but I worry about her........
From 15+ years of bartending experience and 25+ additional years of observation, female bartenders are more apt to be afraid of "cutting off" someone who has had too much to drink for fear of losing a tip. A perfect example occurred in our area when a drunk continued to be served at an establishment (I'll mention no names) and when finally refused service, went out to his truck, drove it through the front window killing one person and injuring two others. Tell your daughter that if she wants to pursue this career, she has to learn to recognize the symptoms, learn to say "No!" and realize that it can be risky even serving someone just one drink because they may have had their limit somewhere else. Thanks for telling this story, tragic as it is! I am sure greatful I never got into drinking, especially after seeing how it destroyed my older brother's life.
