Military mint traveling with Caesar. CAESAR in exergue, elephant advancing right, trampling on horned serpent / Simpulum, sprinkler, axe (surmounted by a dog's head), and priest's hat. Crawford 443/1; HCRI 9; Sydenham 1006; RSC 49. Banker's mark on obverse, porous. Near fine. From the Expatriate Collection.</p><p>From the Expatriate Collection.</p><p><br /></p><p>My trib penny had always been a source of pride. Not so much for its beauty, but rather that I looked, took my time and snagged it for a very affordable price:</p><p>[ATTACH=full]1368795[/ATTACH]</p><p>Tiberius</p><p>AD 14-37 CE. AR Denarius minted at Lugdunum. Laureate head right of Tiberius. Reverse: Female figure (Livia?) seated right. RIC 26; BMC 34. Appealing portrait; Choice Very Fine.</p><p>The "Tribute Penny" of Biblical fame.</p><p><br /></p><p>Gotta love the scar across the soldiers cheek and lovely blue toning:</p><p>[ATTACH=full]1368796[/ATTACH]</p><p>Galba</p><p><br /></p><p>(68-69), Denarius, Rome, July AD 68 - January AD 69, AR (18 MM 2,67 gr h 5), IMP SER GALBA CAESAR AVG P M, laureate head r., Rv.
