Fantastic to meet and chat with the other members. Halfcent1793 wowed me with his "pocket coin". Great show - I'm writing this after having returned home from Friday's activities and I'm beat. Wife doesn't understand why I don't want to go dancing. Tomorrow is another day on the bourse-I've made it past every table, sat in three auctions, bought or won pretties, talked to old friends and made new ones. And, to cap it all off, I don't have to get on I-4 to get home to Kissimmee (that's south of Orlando).

Back to the show on Saturday for the EAC Region 4 meeting and more bourse-crawling.

worse. I84 from Hartford to Danbury any time but especially rush hour in the snow. And 495 or 95/128 suck 99% of the time. 95 across the GW or the Jersey turnpike right up there. 78 through west jersey and East pa is just a blast in a snowstorm too

No, no, I don’t have an 1802 half dime. That is only a picture. I have all of the others.

The closest I ever got to buying an 1802 was six years ago when one was on the FUN bourse at $139,000. It was graded VF, but it had a mark on the reverse it I didn’t like. I have seen a couple of others offered, including the finest known (perhaps) at $350,000 or so. It also appeared in a major auction but was “bought in.”

Sorry I thought there was one in the pic. I know how incredibly rare they are. One of the few us coins that no uncirculated examples exist

I have it on good authority that @messydesk tied for first place in the NGC grading contest. :)

Since its over, from my recollection, here's a sample:

2 Very high grade Morgans (at least one was a CC, as I recall)
1 California Commem (looked cleaned to me)
1 modern gold Iranian proof DCAM commem
1 Massachusetts Cent https://www.pcgs.com/coinfacts/coin/1788-cent-massachusetts-period-bn/948 (this one was tough because it looked like it might be AU, but I wasn't familiar with the series enough to know if it was strike)
1 Civil War token? I think that's what it was. It was small cent sized, but it had a really cool shattered die
1 South African coin (I think it was a PL issue), but it had crazy toning. I waffled on whether the toning was legit or not, but decided AT
A couple of circulated Seated coins (half and dime, I think?)

All told, there were 15 coins and you had 10 minutes to grade them. I finished my first pass in about 8, so I had time to go back and check my work. The real challenge for me was twofold - there was a crazy wide variety of material, some of it I was distinctly unfamiliar with. And I'm not used to having the time pressure! At home, I can take all afternoon to research and examine a coin before I post a grade!
