Just finished the Ngc grading competition. Not going to lie, that was really hard! There was a wide and varied group of coins, and I'm not used to the time pressure!

Hmmm - he must be wearing stilts then

Or - you don't know me, or Larry ;) I mean, if memory serves I'm 2 or 3 inches taller than Larry.

You sure must be wearing a good disguise Larry :)

And them stilts you got on, man that must be tricky going up and down them stairs :D

The John Reich Collector Society is always a good time. Cool people, cool coins, and a cool discussion. Talking about the chemical composition of the earliest US copper and silver coins. Very interesting!

FUN UPDATE: Wow...a bit overwhelmed the 1st day....before the show started I thought attending all 4 days was overkill. Now, I'm gonna need at least 3 of them. I'd say I hit maybe 1/2 the tables yesterday, maybe less. I kind of scattershot aisles and jumped around, plus attended some auctions and the CT Meet & Greet.

My major 1st Day impressions as a 1st-timer:
    • Everyone cordial, dealers very friendly.
    • One dealer confirmed Doug's mantra that most of the business done here is dealer to dealer. Saw a few dealers buying a few thou in stuff from another dealer early Thurs morning.
    • Disappointed there weren't more high quality Saints in common and semi-scarce. Too many 62s and 63s...not enough 65s and 66s.
    • Disappointed not more 1923-Ds overall and in quality. One guy said he had a 65 but sold it to another dealer. Darn, Doug was right again !! Maybe I'll find that dealer and he won't gouge me on the resale.
    • Not much certified bullion commemoratives.
    • Thai place mear my hotel is excellent.:D
    • Great seeing fellow CTers.
I'll be more methodically going up and down each aisle today. Should help me find some stuff that has eluded me so far.

If I-4 was that bad for you, then I strongly urge you to avoid......
    > The "Embassy Row" in Washington, DC when it is snowing, or....
    > The I-95 through New Jersey in a rainstorm, or....
    > The cabs in NYC unless you like to play dodgeball.
