This time it's from 1892. These photos were taken with daylight diffused through a soft, half-transparent curtain, and it helped so much to bring out the sharpness and clarity in my photos as opposed to using a couple of lamps. I see mirroring on both sides and although there's quite a bit of noise on the fields, I don't think that the mirroring is due to any sort of cleaning or polishing. There also appears to be a faint obverse proof die marker (double parallel lines in the triangular fields behind Columbus' neck), shown in the last few pics. As for a grade, maybe you agree with me? Spoiler AU-55 PL Thanks in advance! Proof die diagnostics as documented by NGC:
Are you trying to corner the market?? Nice coin and i must say- all this talk of proof and proof-like Columbians, sort of prompted me to go out and purchase one. NGC 64 PL I love that coin and its NFS !!!
Nah, there are plenty to go around! It's just that it seems that many PL Columbians are way cheaper raw than when slabbed.
