I know many of you are sick of me posting these, but I had to share this new one. This one brings my total up to................ . . . . . . . 5 Yes my 5th Trajan Denarius Much nicer in hand, but could use to toning. TRAJAN AR silver denarius Rome, 102. IMP CAES NERVA TRAIAN AVG GERM, laureate head of Trajan to right. Reverse - P M TR P COS IIII P P Victory standing facing, head turned to left, holding wreath and palm. Cohen 240. RIC 58. 18mm, 3.3g.
I like the coins of Trajan. They are well executed, and they sort of say "I am Trajan prepare to be over informed."
TRAAAaaaajan! Nice SEGUE @randygeki !!! RI AE As Trajan CE 98-117 26mm 11.0g Rome Laureate Draped - SENATVS POPVLVS QVE ROMANVS Victory R wreath palm S-C RIC 675 I got this from @John Anthony cuz not too many coins actually STATE the SPQR statement: SENATVS POPVLVS QVE ROMANVS (Cool)
We're not sick...we have the antidote...keep 'em coming. Not having any ancients (yet), I live through you guys!
Is Trajan #2 on your list following all the FTR's. I know my largest numbers are Septimius Severus and Julia Domna (I am a community property collector) but really do not know which ruler comes next. My favorite 5 Trajan denarii.
The expression on Traianus' face on your second denarii is just incredible @dougsmit . Really caught my eye...Realistic and expressive! Excellent coin! Thanks for putting that one out there! Hey, here is one from Stevex6. Not a big fan of the bust, but Lizzy the Rhino is cool. RI Trajan AE Dichalkon Laureate hd L Rhinoceros walking L LI-Z yr 17 CE 113-114 12.9mm 1.25g Emmet 719 var. rhino right
Thanks, and great coins all. After ftr's, I think it would be Pius (I have 12 now) and 9 coins Augustus. Trajan's tied for 4th with a few others. I did get a FTR too Nota pretty one, and not one I needed ( a duplicate). I thought the shield had 2 pellets on it based on the sellers pic, but i was wrong :/ Was pretty cheap though.
