Yellow Penny?

    What is up with this penny? It is yellow! The pictures below will show you the coin. One on the LEFT is a regular penny, one on the RIGHT is... well the yellow penny.

    I may be off base here, but I believe when the copper for plating gets contaminated with zinc from lost blanks it becomes brassy.

    Enviromental toning. Apart from chemical exposure, heat will also make coins tone to different colors.
