    Hi Everyone,

Was looking at the Provident Metals website recently and saw this silver round:

    http://www.providentmetals.com/2014-1-oz-year-of-the-horse-silver-round.html

I like the design but have never bought a non monetized silver round. Anything specific I should look for when buying a silver round? Price seems reasonable so I'm seriously considering buying it.

    Thanks!!

i just ordered a few of those, should have them in a few days, i just check to make sure there are no visible dings or scratches, basically just an ounce of silver so they wont carry any premium like a coin...and its not like dings or scratches will hurt its resale bullion value IMO

Thanks for the info Ken. I was thinking along those lines but since I had never bought any before I wanted to do a little research :) When you get them can you let me know if they look as good in "person" as on the website?

    Thanks again!!!

I'd be interested in seeing some close up pics also. I wouldn't expect a govt. issued bullion type of fancy finish, but, it would probably bug me if each coin didn't weigh in at least 1 troy ounce (31.1g).

Looks good. Wonder what a proof version would look like :) Now just have to put aside a little money to get this coin and another bullion coin :D
