Can you combine yarn and ancient coin shows in one trip? My trip to NYINC 2025 and my wife's trip to Vogue Live NYC was just that. We saw our favorite stuff, ate some good food and spent a lot. The cold weather did not hamper the shows, but delayed our flights home.
I picked up a nice 3 finger cast bronze coin from HATria with a Medusa head in a Murex shell / Pegasus. It is a Quincunx, or 5 dot half As coin. Rome had 12 uncia per As and Hatria had 10 uncia per As.
My 15 year old neighbor watched our mail. When I asked what kind of coin he wanted, he said he liked Julius Caesar. I will let him pick between the snake eating a man coin from Milan, a NGC slab and a Julius / Octavian bronze coin from Macedonia.

I think coin shows like the NYINC are like going to the zoo. You can see the elephants, but not take them home. I had a chance to hold an elephant at the show, but it did not come home with me. Brut EIDMAR 2.jpg Brut EIDMAR w cap.jpg

Ladymarcovan is a confirmed yarn junkie, so we would have each been happy in those venues.

EID MAR… in person. Can’t say I’ve ever had that pleasure.
