Came across this unusual advertising token for x90 piston rings last week in a dealer's junk bin in Michigan. Googled "x90 the key that unlocks your engine" & was expecting to find 1950s-1960s nostalgia. I was surprised to find an ad in the April 1937 Popular Mechanic with similar language. Turns out this product is a bit older than I expected (although the key shape should have been a giveaway). Can anyone help me narrow down when these tokens were made?
https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces114569.html Perfect Circle Co of Indiana was a 100+ year old company, and leader in piston ring development. I nthe 60's they became a wholly owned subsidiary on the Dana Corp. Quite a few on ebay, but no dates other than 1930's
Yeah I remember perfect circle signs and stickers in the 1960's but that's it, I don't remember any tokens tho'!
