    i'd never heard of that one until I googled it. interesting piece. supposedly they made silver patterns from 1901-1910.

    Neat. The relief has that Dan Carr sorta look.

    No passive dragon here- he looks like my dog with a stick.

    LOL, yea I think it might hurt more than a bit to have a spear shoved in you.
    I can post obverse of the medal tonight - warning: it is not IMO that nice and is Edward VII not so flattering. This is one of those Patina (INA) patterns, and at 18 USD including shipping was quite affordable. I have pictures of the gold somewhere (which PCGS will NOT slab even though well established in the literature and known now for almost 20 years!).

    I know the portrait. You're right- it is a little bit cartoonish.

    I had a "1901" Irish halfcrown "pattern" in copper, with the old veiled Vickie head. It was a nice fantasy issue. I think I also paid $18-ish for it, back in the early 2000s, a couple years after they were issued. Don't have it now.
