An interesting development on the Gem side of things. Manmade stones, even diamonds are becoming so widespread and with fake certificates, that using a special laser, identification can be put on the girdle of the stone where is not readily visible....but the "badies" got a laser and put id on the side also, so then they used some kind of software program to print a security code pattern like the post office uses for online postage and that has stopped it for a while until they can break the algorithim. Also they are putting photos ( originally intended of the happy couples) on the crown of the diamond that are only visible with a 60x scope. Some Highend Jewelry stores are adding their logo and security number on there also. Customers don't seem to mind as they can't detect it, and if they get a divorce, they can be polished off. But gems aren't coins. Jim
