ok guys i have a person offering me these coins, what do you think would be a reasonable offer to him? everything is in XF except for the dimes they are all in UNC. THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!!!! * x7 1976 Quarters three D * x1 1976 Half Dollar D * x1 1976 One Dollar D * x1 1962 All Silver Dime * x1 1957 All Silver Dime * x1 2004 All Silver Dime S * x1 1939 Mercury Dime * x1 1936 Mercury Dime * x1 1920 Buffalo Nickel * x1 1945 War Nickel D * x1 1906 V Nickel
All the '76 coins are only worth face, IMO. The silver Roosy's are worth spot except for the proof one. Spot for the 'war' Jefferson, too. Don't have my Red Book for the rest. I can't imagine the Lib. nickel is worth much since only the 12 D and S I think are pricier in that grade. The Buffalo is the only one I imagine MIGHT be worth anything, but again, I don't have the mintage #'s in front of me. $30 for the lot?
Does "unc" mean uncirculated? Would that not mean the wost grade is MS60? :headbang: Help me out here?
Henry: unc is short for uncirculated. Yes, the worst unc would be MS-60, and on up to perfection, MS-70.
I was trying to be a little conservative. My original total came to $21, but thought that $25 was a nicer-rounder number.
x7 1976 Quarters three D = $1.75 * x1 1976 Half Dollar D = $ .50 * x1 1976 One Dollar D = $1.00 * x1 1962 All Silver Dime = .80 * x1 1957 All Silver Dime = .80 * x1 2004 All Silver Dime S = .80 * x1 1939 Mercury Dime = .80 * x1 1936 Mercury Dime =.80 * x1 1920 Buffalo Nickel = $2.00 (with the other coins here, I don't believe that it is an XF hope for a G) * x1 1945 War Nickel D = .50 (generous) * x1 1906 V Nickel = $2.00 (See 1920 Buffalo comments). Total= $ 11.75 Okay, so I was a bit low.
Uh, Okay, I thought it was worth much more...I said ten bucks as a REAL low ball as I see them for sell very often for 30-40 dollars (and I dont have my price guide on me)...all the same...you give a price of 2 dollars...even in VF condition thats an extremely low estimate. The original post says its XF...I guess what you are saying is you would only buy it if you are able to pay roughly a 1/16 of its worth? (not even counting the other coins in the batch which, if XF as well are worth quite a bit more as well)
hey guys i really appreciate it, i usually only deal in world coins and this guy at work approached me with this list. he is just looking to get rid of them. i never use MS anything because i dont ever see it used with world coins. thanks again!!!!!! marksman01
* x7 1976 Quarters three D (1.75) * x1 1976 Half Dollar D (.50) * x1 1976 One Dollar D (1.00) * x1 1962 All Silver Dime (.50) * x1 1957 All Silver Dime (.50) * x1 2004 All Silver Dime S * x1 1939 Mercury Dime - 3.25 USD (8.00 if UNC) * x1 1936 Mercury Dime - 3.50 USD (8.00 if UNC) * x1 1920 Buffalo Nickel - 10.00 USD (assuming its not d or s) * x1 1945 War Nickel D - 1.50 USD * x1 1906 V Nickel - 27.00 USD So according to the 2004 krause these coins are worth about 50.00 in all if they are all XF. I would say 35 USD would be a fair price, add maybe 10 to that if the dimes are UNC
