I guess eBay does not believe us. 17 hours to go and they are still there.

So far, most of the world has turned their backs on TPG and it's attempts to commercialize the hobby.
Eventually, the scam will collaps here, as well.

There are actually 5 bids now on that Washington quarter with just 17 hours to go. I still can't help but think those bidding on it are just interested in it as a novelty item in their collection and not because they actually believe it to be genuine.

Thanks for the Ebay links ~ I'll post too but agree it seems slow to stop ~ I think it's unfortunate there is no way to contact the bidders & say 'hey, you're being scammed...'

I think my original theory is right ... no sells for over a year .. 5 buys all non coin related ... So ... here's the interesting thing about it ~ go to any coin club meeting or show and there are always people buying errors or counterfeits just for 'collecting' ~ so while it's a shame that it's a lie... it's a cheap way to have an interesting 'show & tell' at time.

NOT ENDORSING THE LIE ~ OR THE SELLER EITHER~ ... I think he should list it as 'replica/counterfeit/etc' and be honest about it and let the bidder bid with a clear understanding of what they are getting. But I have a few of these type things myself, picked up at flea markets, etc., just to share with others as a 'buyer beware, know your coins' example.

You can contact them. It is a pain in the butt process, but it can be done.

The only way I know is if they are selling too ... what's the PIB process...

    Click on his ID.
There is a link "contact member" under his photo. I am sure there are other ways to get to this point.
    Type you message.
Enter their pictured number code. Here is where I have my problem. I have missed as many as 4 in a row.

I bid on one of the 1900 Silver eagles but I was outbid at the end. Bummer.
86 years before the series started you know that has gotta be a rare find.

Yes, but if you get caught by eBay doing that, or the seller reports you as doing that - YOU will be NARUED by ebay.

I am missing something here. I know of no policy that prohibits contact nor have I been able to find one except if you are trying to sell outside eBay. Can you elaborate or point me to a link please?

The rule is in eBay's User Agreement which can be found here - User Agreement

    In it it states -

While using the Sites, you will not:

    - manipulate the price of any item or interfere with other user's listings;

By contacting a bidder on an item to tell them that an item is fake, altered or anything like that - you are interfering with another user's listing. And for that you can and will be kicked off eBay.

This is a well known policy and there are plenty of people who can tell you that they have been kicked off eBay for doing this.
