Wow my first ebay seller scam.

Well, the package arrived late yesterday No tracking updates what so ever
Now I don't think I over reacted as it showed only a printed label for 9 days.
I never accused the seller through messages, just asked when he was going to send it. I did though tell the ebay rep to what I thought he did, but his sticky fingers reply right from the get go didn't help.

He also put a 2013 BU shield penny in with the 1/2's, and he put a wheatback in with my first order as I guess a calling card little gift. I feel bad because I thought the pennie in the first package was a mistake
Time to message him and to apologize.

EDIT: I see what happened, the package that I just received had the exact Tracking# as my first order, this order with the all the hassle was a duplicate order.
No wonder it never scanned, but even more lucky it came.

Here was the scenario I had in mind:

1) Look up price to send package with tracking.
2) Put that many stamps on the package.
3) Take it to the PO, hand it to them, and say "I'd like this shipped with tracking, I've put the right amount of postage on it already."

I have no idea if this would work. At this point, whenever I need to send a package, I buy the postage online and print a label.

 

Depending whose at the counter they might just basically tell you to pound sand or try and convince you you can't do that, but they should print out a new label with a tracking bar and slap that on it

 

Any time you pay for postage at the post office (on a post office meter stamp), you'll get a printed receipt with date and destination zip - if you apply your own postage, you get no receipt, but can buy tracking (you get a receipt with tracking #) or certificate of mailing (you get the postmarked form back) separately.

 

Was trying to trade some W minted quarters coins to cointalk members. Was stiffed on 2 trades. 8 W’s total. And not even a thank you. Also sent a few p’s to Ethen for free. Not even a thank you. Think I learned a lesson. Just send free coins to my bestest buddy @Kentuckyoops and @cpm9ball

Hey, if Kevin Costner can deliver mail during the literal post-apocalypse, then the entire force of the USPS should be able to during the pre-apocalypse

 

Depending on who's on the counter, they may or may not even know their own postal regulations.

There is one objectively dumb counter lady at my local PO who simply doesn't know anything about anything. She's been there at least 12 years, and by her age I reckon near or past 20.

For the longest time she refused to hand-cancel a regular stamped envelope because "no, we can't do that."

Finally printed out the postal regulations from USPS. Brought it to her, and had highlighted where the regulation mentioned that a hand-cancel is to be provided upon request.

PO lady: "wow, can I keep this?" (referring to the regulation printout)
