10 Grams of pure gold melts at $389 today. So while you paid less them APMEX you paid more then spot.

Nvm. I just did simple math and it comes to about $38 a gram but unless you know someone, good luck getting it for that.

It's odd that there's such a premium on the 1 gram bars..

For a credit card order on that 10 grammer on Apmex, I would be paying $440..so it's not too high over that.

Plus I had bing cashback money and some extra balance in my paypal, so all in all, i'm happy i did this. i love this bar design and my dec 3 retirement is tomorrow so, yeah..

The same can be said for Gold Eagle ..do the math on a 1/10 ounce sometime...it's rediculous.

Being somebody who pretty much "squeaks when they walk", I stick to the modern commemorative gold. It can frequently be bought for very little premium over melt, and sometimes under melt....though those occurances are getting to be fewer and farther between. I also have a few circulated pre-33 Gold coins, and just last week bought a half eagle for scrap...under melt AND in a 14K screw type bezel. I'll sell off the bezel and have the gold 1/4 ounce 22K coin for about 30 dollars under melt value.

I guess it depends on whether you want gold or designs. Would you buy the design for the same premium if it was on a zinc bar?

Best I ever did though was finding the 3 pc world cup set for 150 bucks. Got the gold and a silver dollar too...well, and a clad half, but who cares about that.

It was a buy it now...and I couldn't get to the button fast enough :hammer:

Wow U give our generation a bad name

I look for Arbitrage in my investments! Why would brag about this?

If you got it off ebay for like 200 that would be worth a brag, but for a net loss no sir.
