The strike is crisp and bold with no marks worthy of mention.</p><p><br /></p><p>At first glance this trial piece appears to be quite similar to the production issue of 1916, but the obverse date is smaller and grouped tighter together. The obverse 'LIBERTY' lettering is setback further from the rim and the designer's monogram, AW, is missing from the reverse.
