    What is that? I've never seen a number stamped on a coin like that before?

    They are what is known as "Counterstamped" coins. Sometimes you will find them with names of a business or bank. Some of those have value to those that collect these. The numbers mean really nothing and multiple reasons why they were done. All PMD, never ever done at a Mint!
