Just wondering, I've always wanted a gold coin pin back but I don't have the funds to buy something just for the novelty of it all. Here's the question, just for fun! If you owned it, would you wear it to a coin show?? And if you wore it, would it be hidden on your hat or would you proudly wear it on your chest for all to see?
You got that right! No, I wouldn't wear it either! I wonder what the buyers of these do with them? It has a couple of bidders already! https://www.ebay.com/itm/1902-Unite...rentrq:340093a71780acf320271dfbffe6fc1e|iid:1
I wouldn't, but if I had someone special accompanying me, she might be wearing this, as described previously in a post "My favorite, and only, gold coin" on 11/25/2020. Even though the obverse would be appropriate for my deceased wife, she preferred the "family" representation of the reverse.
A word the the wise ... when you are going to and from a coin show, it’s a good idea to be as inconspicuous as possible. Years ago I saw an old fellow who had a tie clip that read, “I collect coins,” on it. Perhaps he could have also pinned a sign on his back just to make sure that the less than honest people would spot him.
Uhhh - aren't ya pretty much saying that anyway just by being AT a coin show ? My point is the bad guys don't need to be able see something as small as a tie clip, or a coin pinned to your shirt or jacket - or HAT if you're Rob ! All they gotta do is sit in the parking lot and watch who goes in and who comes out from a hundred yards away.
No way. I try to be a regular Joe when coming or going to shows. I also don't want dealers to take the stance they can get a little more money from me.
